Delaying Email in Outlook
Have you ever composed an email out of frustration or addressed one to the wrong person, sent it and wish you had not? You can easily prevent this by using Outlook’s Rule Wizard to delay the sending of the email. Simply click on Tools > Rules and Alerts. Start a new rule > Select Check Messages after Sending > click Next > click Yes > Select Defer delivery by number of minutes (define the number of minutes) > Click Finish. The email will sit in your Outbox until the defer timer is up. Gives you a little extra time to prevent a mess! You could also use the same rule to delay an email blast to a large list of people until after hours as not to impact others in your office.
